Candace L. "Candee" Brown Modesti, 73, of Ridley Township died on May 9, 2022 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Weirton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Hilman and Dollie Barkhurst Brown.

Candee was a graduate of Weir High School, class of 1967 and received a bachelor's degree in History from West Liberty University in 1971. She was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a longtime substitute teacher for the Ridley School District.

First and foremost, Candee was a fiercely devoted mother and grandmother; her favorite times were with them. She was an avid gardener (flowers), enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and barbequing on the back deck with family and friends. She loved her two pugs, Asti and Sassy, enjoyed vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC and visiting her family, but most important was being with her grandchildren. Candee was a patient, kind, and gentle soul.
She was wife of the late John R. Modesti, mother of John H. Modesti (Joni) and Missy Modesti-Friel (Kevin), grandmother of Johnny, Nevan, Minnie, Grace, Katie and Ryan, sister of Mark Brown (Vicki) and the late Bill Brown (Susan).

Memorial Service 11 AM Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call after 10 AM. Burial private.
