Bruce A. Hoffsommer, 71, of Ridley Park died on August 18, 2015 at Crozer Keystone Hospice at Taylor. Born in Philadelphia, he was son of W. Alfred and Lillian Wood Hoffsommer.

Bruce graduated from Ridley Park High School, class of 1962. He also graduated from Ursinus College with a BA in History and served in the US Navy during Vietnam. Bruce was a member of the Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery and enjoyed genealogy, historical research, photographic archiving and audio restoration but most important was his devotion to his family.

Bruce was the loving husband of Helene Becker Hoffsommer; devoted father of Samuel B. Hoffsommer, Abigail Gritti (John) and Helen Davidson (Joseph); brother of Alan F. Hoffsommer and Conrad W. Hoffsommer; grandfather of Jack, Walter and Elizabeth; and stepson of Miyoko S. Hoffsommer.


Funeral Mass: 10 AM Friday at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA 19022 where friends may call from 9-9:45 AM.
