Betty Lou (Kitto) Needles, 82, of Aston, PA, died peacefully at home on June 8, 2011.


Mrs. Needles was born in Mt. Pleasant, PA to the late Bruno Frank and Mary (Overly) Kitto and moved to the Phila region in 1948, where she waitressed in several restaurants before moving to Aston in 1956. A graduate of Mt. Pleasant area high school, Mrs. Needles also worked in Food Service for the Penn-Delco School District for 20 years, retiring in 1991.


A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandma, friend and neighbor, she will always be remembered for her unique kindness & generosity. She was an avid QVC shopper, loved the casinos, but mostly enjoyed sharing her cooked creations & gifts with family and friends.


Wife of the late Willard Needles who died in 2003, she was also the step-mother of the late Alison L. Needles, and sister of the late Jack Hickson, John Kitto, Frank Kitto, Tom Kitto, Judy Chippiardi, June Mazzarella, Anna Lee Jones, Georgette Bruno and Bernadine Jones.


Survivors: Sons, Richard Kitto and Kurt Needles of Aston, and Marc Needles (Susan) of West Grove; daughters, Anne Thompson of Dallas, TX and Lindy Schaffstall (Joe) of Aston. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
