Bette Smith Williams, 86 of Chester died September 22, 2016 at her home. Born in Nanticoke, PA she was the daughter of the late Robert and Maude Palmer Smith.

Bette was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1948 and received a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Beaver College in 1952. She was a Music Teacher at Christopher Columbus Elementary School in the Chester-Upland School District, retiring in 1992. . Bette was a member of St. Paul's P.E. Church, she loved music and also taught piano for many years. She and her late husband enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. She also collected antiques and clocks but most important was her devotion to her family.

She was the wife of the late Dudley G. Williams who died April 29, 2013 and sister of the late William "Bill" P. Smith.

Bette is survived by her daughter who provided her care for the last 3 years Sally R. Williams; her son David S. Williams and cherished grandson Samuel Garrett Williams.

Burial Rite and Eucharist: 10 AM Thursday at St. Paul's P.E. Church, 301 E. Ninth St., Chester, PA 19013.

Visitation: 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave, Ridley Park and 9 to 9:45 AM Thursday at the above church.

Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery
