Bernice L. Ulshafer Reed, 84 of Ridley Park, died April 23, 2011 at Taylor Hospice Residence surrounded by her family after a two year courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Lehighton, PA she lived in Philadelphia before moving to her late residence 53 years ago.

Mrs. Reed was last employed as a waitress at the Penn Oaks Country Club and previously worked at Westinghouse Corporation and the Springhaven Country Club.A member of the Church of St. Madeline, she was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls, Class of 1944. She was an avid Philly sports fan and enjoyed vacationing at the Jersey Shore, Bradenton, FL and her pool. Most important to her was her devotion to her family.

She was wife of the late Edward W. Reed, her husband of 63 years, who died March 11, 2011 and daughter of the late Leo and Beatrice Hager Ulshafer.

Survivors; her children Edward W. Reed, Jr (Maria), Nancy Horwoth, Jerry Reed (Diane), Sandie L. Cubit (Mark) and Bonnie L. McDowell (Bruce), sisters Jeanne O'Hara and Joyce Andruscavage, also eleven grandchildren and six grandchildren.

Memorial Service and a sharing of memories 3:00PM Sunday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where friends may call after 2:00PM. Burial private.
