Obituary

Bernece F. Senger 90 of Swarthmore, died May 26, 2022.

Born in Chester to the late James and Bernice Keeley Ward, she attended Chester High School. She lived and worked in Milmont Park before retiring to Cape May, NJ, then later moving to Swarthmore. She was co-owner of Benny's Bar in Milmont Park with her second husband, Benoit Senger, and enjoyed her customers including visits by the coaches of the Philadelphia Eagles and players of the Philadelphia 76ers during the late 1960's and early 70's. She was an active member of the Tavern Owners Association of Delaware County until retiring in 1978. She loved golf and watching Downton Abby. She enjoyed the beaches of Cape May and Wildwood throughout her life and later enjoyed living in Swarthmore and walking through the Village discussing issues with the local merchants.

She was the wife of the late Philip J. Flanigan and Benoit Senger; mother of the late John Senger; also, sister of the late William and Robert Ward. Bernece is survived by her children, Patrick F. Flanigan (Connie), Phylis A. Pollins (Ira) and Michael Senger (Shannon); sisters Dorothy Wojs and Christine Mazza; grandchildren, Ryan Somers, Michael Senger, Jr., Bryan Senger and Maria Senger; also, five great grandchildren.
