Barbara A. Pitale Koury 86 of Springfield, died on December 4, 2022.

Born in Philadelphia to the late Joseph and Mary Beard Pitale and lived in Wallingford before moving to her last residence 16 years ago.

She was last employed as a teacher's aide at Nether Providence Elementary School in the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District for 25 years until her retirement in 2002, where she touched the lives of many children with her kind and gentle nature.

Barbara was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1954 and a member of St. John Chrysostom R.C. Church.

She enjoyed walking her dog Lily and talking to her neighbors, reading, music and dancing, and watching the birds that came to visit her bird feeder. She had a smile for everyone that she met, and especially loved babies and children, who she would talk to whenever she was out and about.  Most important was her love and devotion to her husband, children and her granddaughter Ava.

Barbara was the loving wife of the late Leo P. Koury, her husband of 54 years, who died in 2009 and mother to her late twin sons, Abraham Daniel and Leo P. Koury, Jr. who died in 1959.

She is survived by her children Robin Koury, Leo P. "Lee" Koury, Jr. (Suzanne), Diane Kalafut (Late John), Kim Stracciolini (Tony) and her granddaughter Ava Marie Stracciolini.
