Barbara L. Kennedy, 84 of Prospect Park died on April 27, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late William and Elsie Snyder Witte, she was raised in Southwest Philadelphia and has been a resident of Prospect Park since 1969.
Barbara attended South Philadelphia High School and was a faithful member of The Church of St. Madeline in Ridley Park where she was a member of the Sodality. Her hobbies included sewing and bowling, and she also loved cooking and baking. Barbara was an avid fan of the Phillies, Frank Sinatra's music as well as Channel MeTV and the TV show Everybody Loves Raymond. She also enjoyed caring for her home and family and loved her dog Maggie.
She was the loving wife of the late James T. Kennedy, mother of James W. Kennedy, Colleen Fowler (Steve) and the late Debra Kennedy, grandmother of Joseph Kennedy, Matthew Kennedy and Kevin Fowler and great-grandmother of Rowan Kennedy.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave. Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call from 9:15 to 10:15 AM. Burial will follow in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
