Barbara A. O'Brien Eckenrode 87 of Ridley Park, died on September 10, 2021. Born in Wilkes Barre, but has called Ridley Park home since 1964.

She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, class of 1952 and a member of The Church of St. Madeline, the Ridley Park Seniors, Ridley Park Red Hats and a Life member of the Ridley Park Fire Company Auxiliary. Barbara had a fun-loving spirit. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casinos, watching QVC and doing puzzles, but what she enjoyed most was her family.  Hanging out with her children, grand children and great grands brought her the most joy.

Barbara was the loving wife of the late Thomas H. Eckenrode, Sr. her husband of 46 years, who died in 2001; daughter of the late Christopher and Elizabeth O'Brien and sister of the late Bernard O'Brien and Margaret White.

She is survived by her children, Thomas H. Eckenrode (Linda), James M. Eckenrode (Lisa), Michael J. Eckenrode (Patricia) and Barbara Timlin (Joseph); her sisters, Joan Buffington and Christine Hine; also survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass 11:00AM Thursday, September 16, 2021 at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078

Visitation 6:30 to 8:30PM Wednesday and 9:15 to 10:15AM Thursday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park.

Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
