Obituary

Barbara J. Cerbus (nee Jeffries), 85 of Ridley Park died peacefully on July 28, 2024 with her family by her side.  Born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Kieser) Jeffries, she had been a resident of Ridley Park for the past 56 years.
Barbara was a graduate of Lansdowne-Aldan High School, class of 1956 and Millersville State Teachers College, class of 1960.  She taught 3rd grade at Norwood Elementary School for many years and more recently taught at St. Matthew's Nursery School.  Barbara was an active member at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served as the Sunday School Superintendent for 21 years.  She also was active in the Williamson School Ladies Auxiliary for many years and was an avid Phillies fan.
She was the loving wife of the late Michael Cerbus, loving mother of Michael J. Cerbus (Suzanne), Jeffrey G. Cerbus, Robert J. Cerbus (Jill) and Nancy Scura (Paul), cherished grandmother of Ryan, Evan, Robbie and Colin, sister of the late Janet Wharton Fetchen and David Jefferies, and was sister-in-law of Mary Ann Bedwell (Thomas) and Louise Cerbus, she is also survived by a dear niece Barbara Hutton (Geoff) as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation 12 noon to 1 PM, Thursday August 1, 2024 at the Lazaretto Ballroom, 99 Wanamaker Avenue, Essington, PA 19029 followed by a Service and Life Celebration.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Tunnel to Towers at https://t2t.org/ or St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 156 Fairview Rd., Woodlyn, PA  19094 would be appreciated.
