Ascenzia M. "Sandy" Cartafalsa Hecksher, 88 of West Chester, died June 23, 2011 at Neighborhood Hospice.

Born in Bristol, PA, she was the daughter of the late Benedetto and Francesca Indelicato Cartafalsa.

Mrs. Hecksher was a longtime resident of Ridley Park, and lived in West Grove before moving to her late residence one and a half years ago.

She was secretary in the Public Relations department for the County of Delaware for 20 years before retiring in 1985. Mrs. Hecksher was a longtime member of the Ridley Park Presbyterian Church and was a volunteer at Taylor Hospital for 20 years. Most important to her was her devotion to her family.

Survivors; her children Otto W. Hecksher (Peggy), Sandy Hecksher Ogletree (David), Linda Hecksher Kelly and Ben R. Hecksher (Diane), her brother Michael Cartafalsa, also six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service 11:00AM Wednesday at the Ridley Park Presbyterian Church, 300 N. Swarthmore Ave., RIdley Park, PA where friends may call after 10:00AM.

Burial Edgewood Memorial Park.
