Arthur A. "Bing" Brinkworth, 61, of Aston, Pa, died on December 27, 2023. Born in Sewickley, PA, he was the son of the late Donald and Marjorie Brinkworth, joining the family as the fifth child with four older sisters. Bing attended Sewickley Academy until the family relocated from Sewickley to Media, Pa in 1969.
Bing was a graduate of The Episcopal Academy, class of 1980, where he played drums in a band called the Sopping Hotts. He went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University. He was currently employed as a Senior Project Manager at DPR Construction and had spent his career in the hospital construction field. Bing's passion for the field was evident with his time at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Nemour's Hospital and with IMC Construction. He found the healthcare construction industry very rewarding and was very proud of the hospital construction projects he worked on, often commenting how he loved seeing the tangible results of children benefiting from new hospital facilities.
Bing loved music, concerts, playing the guitar and drums and was very active playing in bands and setting up for band concerts during his college and early adult years. He enjoyed time with friends and family, reading, Philly sports, and spending time at Shellbay Campground in Cape May Courthouse, NJ.
He is survived by his wife Sally Brinkworth, his children Lindsey and Andrew Brinkworth, his sisters Christine Pittman, Debra Leese, Donna Cullinan and Louise Snyder. His adoring nieces and nephews include: Sarah Kropp and Sean, Scott and Meghan Cullinan; Erin Snyder-Jones and Kevin Snyder; Tina Bruch and Dan Pittman. He is also survived by his beloved dog,"Nike", who he adopted from the Media SPCA seven years ago and was his best friend and companion.
Bing's Funeral Service will be at 12 noon Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call after 11 AM. Burial private.
