Antoinette Groover-Gallagher, 101, of Ridley Park died on November 4, 2022. Born in Chester, the daughter of the late Anthony and Benedetta Crimi Restucci. She had been a resident of Ridley Park since 1956.
Antoinette was a graduate of Julia Richmond High School, class of 1938, and then attended City College of New York. Before her retirement, she was employed as a Medical Record Clerk at Taylor Hospital for 25 years. She was a parishioner at the Church of St. Madeline where she was a member of the Sodality. Antoinette also held the office of President of TLA (To Live Again), which enabled her to counsel and comfort the newly widowed. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking. Antoinette was a life-long reader and was a master at word search puzzles. Many of her oil paintings were gifted to family members. Her family was most important for her.
She was wife of the late James Benton Groover, Sr. and the late James F. Gallagher. Antoinette was the mother of Benedetta M. "Bene" Lawrence (Dr. Gary), Leanora "Lea" Furlong (Robert) and James B. Groover, Jr. (Dee). She was sister of the late Frank Restucci. Antoinette is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 12 Noon, Friday November 11, 2022 at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park, PA. Friends and relatives may call from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM at the church. Burial will be at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. The family requests that masks be worn.
