Anne P. Hunter, 91, of Swarthmore died on March 24, 2022 at her home. Born in Ridley Park, the daughter of the late Michael and Hannah Lyons Driscoll, she lived in Eddystone before moving to Swarthmore 64 years ago.
Anne was a graduate of Notre Dame High School for Girls, class of 1947 and graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital for 18 years before retiring in 1992 and had previously worked at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington. Anne was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church and the Miraculous Medal Association. She was an avid quilter and crocheter, she also enjoyed sewing, going to the casinos, cards and games.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, John W. Hunter, her daughter-in-law Diane Douglas Hunter, her siblings Michael Driscoll and Ellen Davis, and her beloved godson, William G. Davis.
Anne is survived by her children; John W. Hunter, Jr. (Mary), Martha Tiriris (Richard), Christopher Hunter (Eva Tucker) and William Hunter (Kimberly), also seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass 11 AM Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church, 950 Fairview Rd, Swarthmore where relatives and friends may call 10:00 to 10:45 AM. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
