Anne M. Downs, 78 of Chadds Ford died on August 23, 2025.  Born in Chester, the daughter of the late John and Mary (nee Rodgers) Smith, she was a long-time resident of Aston and had recently lived in Boothwyn before moving to Chadds Ford two years ago.

Anne was a member of the Second Baptist Church and had been employed as a deli clerk at Wawa.  She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, but most important was time spent with her loving family.

Anne was predeceased by her first husband Robert D. Rhoades, Jr.

She was the loving wife of 42 years to Harry B. Downs, Jr., mother of Lisa Threlfall (Douglas), Joanne Grego (John), Robin Rhoades (Christian Davies) and Robert Rhoades, 3rd, step-mother of Harry "Bruce" Downs, III, Lisa Warren (late Keith) and Jennifer Newsome (Lonnie), sister of Margaret Tillman, William "Bob" Smith and the late John "Jack" Smith, Joseph Smith and Joan Smith, she is also survived by 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service 11 AM Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Rd., Aston where relatives and friends may call after 10 AM.  Burial Lawn Croft Cemetery.
