Anna "Ann" M. Appolonia Savinese, 82 of Ridley Park died on May 22, 2013 at the home of her son and daughter in law.
Born in Philadelphia, she has lived at her late residence for 59 years.
Ann was a member of the Church of St. Madeline and the Sodality. She graduated from Overbrook High School, class of 1948 where she was on the gymnastics team.
Ann was also a member of the New Life Club, serving as their secretary, the Ridley Park Seniors and the Ridley Park Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She loved line dancing, the Phillies, Eagles, crossword puzzles and writing to family members in Italy, which helped to maintain her ability to speak and write Italian.
Most important to her was her love and devotion to her family; so much that she learned sign language in order to communicate with her grandson.
Ann was wife of the late Stanley J. Savinese, her husband of 55 years, who died in 2009, daughter of the late Anthony and Nellie Iampieri Appolonia and sister of the late Mary Vannicelli and Dominic William Appolonia.
Survivors; her children Stanley J. Savinese, Jr. D.O. (Kirsten), Patrice S. Blaszkowski (Dennis) and Gail T. Daddazio (Vincent); also eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass 11:00AM Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Church of St. Madeline, Penn St. and Morton Ave.,, Ridley Park where friends may call from 9 to 10:45AM. Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
