Anna M. "Ann" Mortimer Rooney, 88
Loving and Caring Sister and Aunt


Anna M. "Ann" Mortimer Rooney, 88, of Woodlyn died May 25, 2011 at her home. Born in Philadelphia she lived in Southwest Philadelphia prior to moving to her late residence 41 years ago.


She was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls, Class of 1941 and was a Data Entry Supervisor for Gulf Oil Company. Mrs. Rooney was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church. She was devoted to her faith and was a very generous and caring person, but most important was her family and their weekly luncheons at the Erin Pub.


She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas M. Rooney who died December 16, 1996 after 43 years of marriage, daughter of the late Anthony A. and Agnes Hastings Mortimer and sister of the late Anthony "Tom" Mortimer, Theresa Gibbens and Joseph Mortimer.


Survivors: her brother John F. Mortimer and sisters Agnes Greeley and Helen Feeney, also survived by many nieces and nephews.


Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Saturday at Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church, Fairview Road and Michigan Avenue, Swarthmore


Visitation: 8:30 to 9:45 AM Saturday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park


Burial: SS Peter & Paul Cemetery
