Obituary

Amelia M. "Mabes" Cerami 93 of Aston, died on February 20, 2022 at the home of her son Leonard and daughter in law Donna, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Chester, she has lived in Aston since 1955.
Amelia attended St. Anthony's and Immaculate Heart Commercial in Chester.
Amelia began working at a young age in her parents' grocery store, The Lamokin  Market, in Chester PA, until she and her husband moved to Aston, PA in 1955. She enjoyed being a homemaker until she resumed her deli career working at several local markets including, the old A & P in Aston and Chichester and retired from Superfresh in 1993. But, once again, "Mabes" made a comeback and returned to the markets and is most remembered as "the lady who gives out samples" at the Aston Giant and Brookhaven Pathmark. It gave her so much pleasure to cook for and serve others, always with a big warm smile. She hung up her apron for the last time at the age of 85.
Amelia was a member of The Church of St. Joseph since 1955, the Woman's Guild, the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality, the church choir, the United Food Workers and UFCW, Local 152.
She loved cooking but most important to her was her faith, her children and her cherished grand and great grandchildren.
Amelia was predeceased by husband of 56 years, Rudolph J. "Rudy" Cerami who died in 2004; her parents Virgilio and Agatha DiConstanza Marsecano and her sister Mary Ann Marsecano.
She is survived by her children, Philip R. Cerami (Eileen), James P. Cerami, Mary T. Cerami, Rudolph J. Cerami, Jr. (Karen) and Leonard A. Cerami (Donna); her sisters Angelina Furman and Frances Iannone (Vincent); 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass 11:00AM Saturday, February 26, 2022 at The Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Rd., Aston where friends may call 9:30 -10:45Am Entombment Lawn Croft Cemetery.
