Alice A. Callahan (nee Burke), 88, of Holmes died peacefully surrounded by her family December 29, 2016 at Lankenau Hospital. Born and raised in West Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Catherine Sheridan Burke and resided in Norwood and Media before moving to her late residence 12 years ago.

Alice was a 1946 graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls and was employed by Reliance Insurance Co. as a Secretary. A Delaware County resident since 1957, she was a member of St. Gabriel's Parish in Norwood, St. Frances DeSales in Lenni, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Morton and she previously attended St. Carthage Parish. Alice enjoyed traveling, crafts, knitting, crocheting, pottery, quilting, books, puzzles, computes, movies, television (Hogan's Heros, Seinfield, Eagles and Phillies games) and visits to North Cape May to visit her father. Alice was a sweet, loving, compassionate, kind, generous and caring person. Her family appreciates everything she has done for them and her grandchildren adored her.

Alice was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence H Callahan; her son, Lawrence; and her brother, Edward Burke.

She is survived by her children, Edward (Dolores), Kathleen McNeely (John) and Stephen (Ann Marie); her daughter-in-law, Suelynn Callahan; her grandchildren, Colleen, Karen, Kara, Alyssa, Catherine, Chelsea, Sarah, John, Joseph, Mary and Stephen; and her great granddaughters, Alana, Laila, Talia and Annabelle.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church, 2130 Franklin Ave., Morton, PA 19070, where friends may call from 9:00-9:45 AM

Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery
