Alfred J. Bazis, 87, formerly of Linwood, died May 10, 2018 at Sunrise of Haverford. Born in Crum Lynne, he was the son of the late George and Mary Liske Bazis and moved to Haverford ten years ago.

Alfred served in the US Army and was employed as the Post Master in Marcus Hook before he retired. He was a member of the Church of St. Joseph and the Knights of Columbus. Alfred enjoyed fishing, was an avid Philadelphia Sports Fan, especially the Eagles, loved to work on cars and was devoted to his family.

Alfred was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Dolores Dempter Bazis, who died April 29, 2001; and his daughter, Theresa A. "Terry" Volpone, who died March 26, 2000. He was the last of seven children.

Alfred is survived by his grandchildren, Amanda DiStefano (Drew) and Jason S. Volpone (Kasey); five great grandchildren; also, many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 10 AM at the Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Road, Aston, PA 19014, where relatives and friends may call from 8:45-9:45 AM.

Burial: Lawn Croft Cemetery
