Alexander "Alexis" Yankovoy, 90
Retired Boeing Engineer
Alexander "Alexis" Yankovoy of Wallingford, died March 10, 2011 at Taylor Hospice Residence. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Yankovoy lived in Essington before moving to Wallingford 51 years ago.
He was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1936 and received a BS Degree in Engineering from the former PMC. He was employed as an engineer at Boeing Company for 35 years retiring in 1982 and previously worked at Westinghouse. He was a member of St. Michael Russian Orthodox Church where he sang in the choir. Mr. Yankovoy loved music and sang with many choral groups, he also enjoyed gardening and growing flowers.
He was son of the late Vladimir and Matrona Matkaluk Yankovoy, also predeceased two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors: his wife of 66 years, Josephine Flurick Yankovoy, also survived by nieces, nephews and many other family members.
Funeral Service and Visitation: 10 AM Thursday at St. Michael Russian Orthodox Church, 335 Fairmount Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19123 where friends may call after 9 AM.
Burial: Oakland Cemetery
