Albert J. Anthony, Jr., 70, of Lester died on July 4, 2015 at Taylor Hospital. Born in Chester, he lived in Eddystone for 37 years before moving to his late residence seven years ago. Al was the son of the late Albert J. and Josephine Markiewicz Anthony.
He was employed as a mechanic for Westinghouse Corp. and served in the US Marine Corps during Vietnam. Al received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device. He was a member of the VFW Post 7949 in Eddystone and St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church. Al enjoyed building model boats and playing the harmonica but most important was time with his family.
Al was the loving husband of Mary E. DiStasio Anthony, his wife of 49 years; devoted father of Tina Pursh (Alan), Kevin Anthony (Jen), Alisa Hastings (Joe) and Sally Fritchey (Sam); brother of Patricia Weintraub and Margaret Barnes; also survived by ten grandchildren and one great grandson.
Funeral Liturgy: 10:30 AM Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the White Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, where friends may call from 7:00-9:00 PM Friday and after 9:30 AM Saturday
